SpeechUnite HK Limited (SpeechUnite) is a social enterprise founded by dedicated speech therapists since 2025, committed to improving the lives of individuals affected by communication challenges, particularly aphasia.
Vision and Mission
Empower the Community
We engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about aphasia. By organizing events and informational sessions, we aim to educate the public, reduce stigma, and create supportive networks for individuals and families, fostering a community that understands and empathizes with their struggles.
Engage the Society
We aspire to offer interactive workshops for caregivers and healthcare professionals, equipping them with essential skills to support individuals facing communication difficulties. These workshops provide practical strategies and foster a collaborative care environment, allowing caregivers to better understand the needs of those they support.
Envision the Future
We aim to develop digital solutions that increase users’ and caregivers’ independence in assessing communication challenges and guiding them toward appropriate professional assistance and management.
Our Projects
Aphasia Allies
Our project, Aphasia Allies, funded by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund (SIE Fund) and incubated by Oxfam Grant for Good, is committed to empowering Cantonese-speaking elderly individuals with aphasia, as well as their caregivers and frontline workers, by providing accessible resources and support to enhance communication abilities and improve overall quality of life.
About the SIE Fund
The SIE Fund was inaugurated in 2013 and is overseen by the SIE Fund Task Force under the Commission on Poverty. The Task Force Secretariat is established in the Digital Policy Office under the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau. The SIE Fund acts as a catalyst for social innovation in Hong Kong. By facilitating social innovation and cultivating social entrepreneurship, the Fund aims to make an impact in alleviating poverty and social exclusion, promoting social integration, and enhancing the well-being and cohesion of society.
